Our Atelier

An atelier is a workshop where children will encounter materials and ideas. They will develop systems of representational thinking and symbolic languages while encountering both the expressive arts and STEM.

Our Atelier is a space to encounter rich, intelligent materials and diverse ideas.

Proposals are set up for hands-on, experiential learning, and to inspire and provoke thinking, creating and collaboration. Children will be guided to work on projects together. The space empowers and encourages the child to approach and encounter materials and to develop systems of symbolic expression, culminating in communicative projects.

“Intelligent materials are open-ended materials that are full of potential to spark children’s creativity. The more a material can do, the more intelligent it can become with children, because what a material can do determines the potential for learning.”

(Dietze & Kashin, 2016)

Our youngest children begin their journey of self-expression, co-constructivism and citizenship at 18 months old.

“Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Through an active, reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning how to learn.”

(Loris Malaguzzi, Founder of the Reggio Emilia Approach)

Phonics

Through songs, stories and actions, meet our unforgettable and lovable Letterland friends. The Letterland system from the UK lays the foundations for reading and writing in a playful and engaging way.

We begin with the basic letter sounds and shapes and then the magic happens when we begin to put the letters and sounds together!

Percussions for Kids

Drama

During Creative Drama classes, children will embark upon journeys together and have the opportunity to take direction as they role-play various stories.

Our drama programme aims to step out of the conventional, strictly by script drama programmes.

We aim to deliver child-directed, process driven and highly imaginative drama lesson that empower children to imagine new realities, thus, the name, CREATIVE DRAMA
